I hear you say “why a down and not a sit?”. Its so much easier for your dog to lay down than do a sit, not to mention its easier on the joints and much more natural for a dog to lay down on an evening than to sit. So, whats the purpose of a down? Down is a form of relaxing for our dogs, they lay to sleep. So why is it important that we teach it them? Well, lets say we want to go out to our local for a beverage, or out on a walk, we take a seat to watch the world go by… what does that mean for our dog? They don’t understand that we need to take a break to sit down on a walk, so we need to give them a job to do! Laying and settling allows them to relax and gives them some much needed downtime in the big wide world.

Bethany was amazing with our Rescue Dexter, he adored her from the outset and we all learned so much in a short space of time, I would definitely recommend and have booked more training in future 🐾🐾

Bethany has educated us,not our dog Jack,in that we now understand just some of the basic rules for training our intelligent canine to behave in a way that we are happy with and more importantly,so is Jack.We will now try to incorporate these basics into general behaviour. Bethanys' approach is so sensible, respectful of the animal and the "owner",giving a framework to build on. Splendid!!

Our 3 year old male lab Naby sometimes can get a bit excited when meeting other dogs - he wants to be friends with everyone! So we reached out to Bethany for some help and after just a few initial sessions, the results are already really noticeable. Bethany makes the training sessions fun and easy to capture the main takeaways so that my wife and I can continue the training during week. We would highly recommend .

Really enjoyed our workshop session with Bethany. She was super helpful with our specific concerns and explained not only how to do the training but why it worked. Would very much recommend!

We have been working with Bethany for 2 months now and she has been amazing, the changes in our border collie are brilliant. He's learnt so many tricks and games, that all help him and us to work better together both at home and on walks. Bethany explains everything in depth and is always there if we have any questions or need a little bit of extra help. We definitely recommend Bethany to anyone who has a doggo in their lives!

Bethany is a lovely lady, works on a gentle training approach. My rescue young Lab & I had a 90 min session on lead walking, my dog taught me a lot, she went in dragging me to say hello, 5 minutes after starting the class I had a lovely girl who was watching, waiting & ignoring the other dogs, a relaxed class that was fun for us both!!

We did the reactive course with our 1 year old lab. He gets very over excited around other dogs which can turn into frustration. This was a 2 part course - first part was an online workshop and the second part was a practical lesson at Mutts Go Nutts. The online session gave a good context to what reactivity is and introduced some techniques to disengage your dog from triggers whilst outside and to help increase focus on the owner. We had the session at Mutts Go Nutts a couple of weeks later with one other dog and owner. Bethany was great at talking us through some scent work games, and different methods to use whilst out and about with other dogs to help them disengage and focus on us. It’s clear Bethany really understands dogs and their behaviour, and really loves dogs too! We were able to build up slowly to get our dog closer to the other all whilst learning new ways to get our dog to focus on us rather than the other dog. We eventually made it so the dogs were walking side by side each other with very little reactivity, which we didn’t think would be possible with our dog! Bethany was brilliant at guiding us through this and very encouraging and patient. Lots for us to take away and use in our training! Would highly recommend this course if you are struggling with a reactive dog.

I have just completed the 4 week beginners class with my puppy. The venue is excellent, good parking, very safe and secure field with plenty of space so dogs can maintain focus and are not too on top of each other. The class was a great size allowing which ensured we were all given some 1 on 1 time. The sessions were broken down into easy to understand and follow steps making it achievable and above all fun to do for both owner and dog. Beth has excellent knowledge around canine behaviour and explained in detail how our dogs may perceive a situation and why they do what they do, she was able to answer all questions and offered some great solutions to dilemmas. I have previously attended dog training groups with older dogs and out of the 5 I have been to this was by far the best...well organised, planned and informative, a great size group, friendly and enjoyable. I will be looking out for new dates for future classes with Cainie Accademy
